Model Bag Essentials

There are certain things every woman keeps in her handbag (water, purse, phone, keys etc.) and a couple of extras you carry around if you are a model (heels, hairbrush and composite card). However over the last couple of months I have found a few additional items that  seem to go everywhere with me and I would feel a little lost without so I thought I would share my latest finds.

Pur Chewing Gum

Meeting a client with garlic breath is never a good first impression so I am a little bit addicted to this stuff at the moment. Most conventional chewing gums contain the artificial sweetener aspartame; this commonly-used calorie free sugar substitute has been linked to a multitude of health defects amid claims that it is a carcinogen. Pur is a great alternative and sweetened with xylitol (aka, birch tree extract) a really tasty product that can be found in most health food shops and online. The gum also comes in a variety of interesting flavors from spearmint to cinnamon.

Osea Malibu Sea Vitamin Boost

Running around jumping on and off tubes and buses all day can really take the life out of your skin; by the middle of the day my face is already looking dull and feeling dehydrated. This lovely mist from Osea adds some hydration and goodness back into my complexion and with a super fine mist spray it doesn’t disturb any make-up, just leaving your skin feeling soothed, hydrated, dewy and fresh.

Liz Earle Botanical Shine Nourishing Hair Oil

A super light-weight, absorbent and delightfully scented hair oil this has been all the post-washing product I have used on my hair for the last couple of months. It nourishes and improves hair condition but also adds a great shine and controls any frizz or fly aways. I am not the only one obsessed with this gorgeous product, my model mate Caroline is also a big fan of this product; it keeps her blonde locks shiny & fresh- check out what she says on her blog:  http://carolineraymond.co.uk/2015/08/how-to-keep-bleached-blonde-hair-healthy-and-strong/

Cliff Snack Bar

More often than not, on a day of castings, I don’t realize it’s lunch time until it’s too late and I am already absolutely starving. For this reason I always always keep a snack in my bag to prevent my ‘hanger’ from taking over. My current  favorite bars are cliff bars (most notably the peanut butter one ).These delicious treats are, of course, 100% vegan friendly and packed with a multitude of nutritious ingredients to keep you full, energized and satisfied. Low in fat and high in whole grains and fibre to provide an instant boost without that sluggish feeling.

Ren Satin Perfection BB Cream

I fell in love with this product the first time I used it and have barely gone a day without it since. Completely free from silicone and any other nasties, this gorgeous cream undetectably masks my imperfections and leaves a dewy satin glow without any undesirable shine or oiliness. With both UVA and UVB protection it is a must have for the spring summer, allowing your skin to breathe whilst offering protection and coverage.

Simple Micllar Water Cleansing Wipes

I am generally not a massive fan of cleansing wipes especially as a makeup remover; I feel a good oil or balm is much more effective, however these are such a handy product to throw in your bag for make-up touch-ups and emergencies (like having a casting straight after a job where the makeup artist has made you look like a disco ball). These wipes are really gentle and do a brilliant job of getting make-up off on the go without leaving your skin red, sore or irritated.

I hope you found this helpful, have discovered a couple of bits & pieces to try out and that your handbag doesn’t double in weight like mine has!
